Guest Reviews

Pippin Cottage could not have been better appointed or more perfect for our family holiday to Cornwall. Comfy beds, a huge kitchen, beautiful garden with views across the valley to the sea. It was ideal. Clare was a perfect host; helpful, informative, and friendly. We felt at home from day one. Thank you Clare for fab hospitality and a warm welcome!

July 2022. Our family of 4 stayed at Pippin Cottage which felt like a home from home from the moment we arrived. We were greeted by Clare the owner and Eva, one of the 4 dogs we fell in love with. Clare makes the most amazing scones, homemade plum jam and apple juice. Pendower beach, The Hidden Hut and the Beach Cafe are worth a visit. If you're going to visit the Roseland Inn make a reservation. For us, the best part of our stay was having the dogs visit and demand belly rubs. Eva especially stole our hearts. Driving back from an excursion and being greeted by them brought joy to us every time. We will definitely be returning.

December 2021 WE absolutely loved our stay. This place is perfect and we felt so relaxed here. The baked treats were amazing. Highly recommend the walk to Pendower Beach, coffee and cake at Tatums, lunch at the St Mawes Hotel and a Sunday Roast at the Roseland Inn is a must. Don't forget to stock up on wine at The Old Garage to enjoy in front of the log burner. Merry Christmas! (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage Visitors book).

December 2021 We had an amazing stay. Never been so relaxed! Thank you so much Clare for all of the little extras you provided such as the baked goodies, the homemade apple juice etc. You have a very beautiful place here and we will definitely be back for another wonderful stay! (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage visitors book).

December 2021 We had the most amazing stay at Cow Parsley Cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and the baths were perfect, especially after cold, windy days exploring Cornwall. We really enjoyed the cream tea, apple juice and all the little touches that made our stay so special. Our dog, Bruce, also had the best time and enjoyed curling up in front of the fire. Honestly, the best place we've stayed and we will definately be back! Thank you so much. (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage visitors book).

December 2021 WE had a lovely time staying here for our christmas break. It's such a beautiful cottage and the views are amazing. We loved the treats and the baths. It was stormy and cold one night be with the amount of stars on show and a glass of wine in the tubs we were out there for hours. We would definitely recommend! Thank you. (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage visitors book).

November 2021 Amazing location and cottage, peaceful, relaxing and had everything we needed. The baths outside are a lovely touch and lovely to relax in even though it's November. Very well thought out. Thank you for all the lovely little extras and treats that made us have a wonderful weekend. (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage visitors book).

October 2021 We have had an amazing time at Cow Parsley Cottage. The weather has been so nice and watching the sunset every evening was magical. Our favourite part was having a bath under the stars every evening. We would love to come back one day. (Taken from Cow Parsley Visitors Book).

October 2021 Thank you for a wonderful stay. Cow Parsley Cottage is a wonderful place to relax. Lots of thoughtful touches and we appreciated everything... especially the evening baths.

October 2021 This has been an incredibly peaceful and relaxing break, thank you. Everything in the cottage is presented beautifully. The dogs had so much fun in the safe and secure garden, and the baths are a unique treat. It's made for a memorable birthday and we will definately be back. November 2021 We had the most wonderful time staying at Cow Parsley Cottage. We just kept getting wowed from the moment we arrived. A beautiful home which was perfect for us and our pup Buddy. He lived his best life roaming outside while we relaxed. All the little touches like robes, slippers, treats on arrival and the incredible baths made it the perfect stay and birthday getaway. Thank you Clare - we can't wait to come back again soon. (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage visitors book).

5 - 9 November 2021 What a fabulous place! We couldn't believe our luck when we arrived to a deep orange sunset - absolutely stunning! The the standard of accommodation is second to none, it's hands down the best Airbnb we have ever stayed on - such a treat. We wanted for nothing, it was so luxurious, we felt like we had a real break. We're going to have a tough time getting the pup home - I've never seen Mabel so content! A home from home and much needed R&R. Thank you for everything! (Taken from the Cow Parsley Visitors Book).

November 2021 Couldn't resist jumping in the baths the minute we arrived, even on a cloudy, cold, very windy evening. They were delightfully warm and well sheltered. Lovely touches right down to the homemade apple juice really made this place what it is. Would highly recommend the Roseland Inn for fantastic food, dog friendly atmosphere and lovely staff. Our Rosie dog, who is a rescue, was thoroughly enjoying the garden and as it's so secure we could thoroughly relax. Thank you so much for making our mini-moon one to remember for years to come. Hopefully we can make it an annual anniversary trip! (Taken from the Cow Parsley Cottage visitors book).

We have been on some beautiful walks along the coastline. We hope very much to come down again over the coming year. With all best wishes and our thanks again for a fabulour stay. PS hugs to the dogs! (taken from the visitors book, September 2020)

Thank you for such a memorable and happy stay at Pippin Cottage. It has been a delight from start to finish and the perfect place to relax, unwind and spend time with our family. Your sweet natured dogs, the cows and the toy farm animals were a huge success with the grandchildren and adults alike. It was particularly special returning to the Roseland where we'd spent many happy holidays in the '90s with our children. We would love to come back again to your comfortable and charming cottage. (taken from the visitors book, August 2020)

Thank you for a wonderful stay in your lovely cottage. We have had fantastic weather and have visited many beaches: Portscatho, Godrevy, Pendower, Swanpool, Maenporth and Praa Sands. Portscatho was one of our favourites! Also visited the beautiful Trelissick Gardens, the children also enjoyed a swim in the little river beach there too! Been to St Mawes twice, walked to the castle and down onto the beach there too! WE have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and visiting many places, the welcome home each night by the dogs was wonderful! The cottage had everything we needed and the beds were all very comfortable which makes a change from many other cottages we have stayed in! Thank you, Clare for the farm tour. The children were made up by it! We enjoyed the beautiful garden and views, also enjoyed seeing the cattle in the field. We also collected a cucumber most days at the bottom of the drive in your box, they were delicious! Thank you once again for your kindness. We would love to return next year, all being well! Camel Trail also worth a visit. We can recommend the Roseland Inn - the food was 5* (taken from the visitors book, August 2020)

Our third year here, and when we meet Friday morning we hope you have us again, and I think that says it all. 10/10 (taken from the visitors book, July 2020)

We are taking home lots of lovely memories after this difficult period. (taken from the visitors book, July 2020)

Extracts from entry in visitor book, April 2016: Cottage was fantastic; spacious, homely, lots of unexpected comforts and special thoughts to make you feel at home. Children loved watching the lambs playing. Overall a wonderful week and exactly the relaxing holiday we were hoping for. Whilst we didn't go far from the cottage or visit big attractions, we didn't feel the need to get in the car when there are so many beautiful places to see and explore which are accessible by footpaths. Thanks Clare and family for making us feel so welcome.

28 March - 1 April 2016. A lovey cottage for a family holiday. We enjoyed the wood burner each evening after a day out - returning from wind and rain at the beginning of the week...and glorious sunshine at the end of the week. We enjoyed long walks around Nare Head, Dodman Point and the Roseland Peninsula (the latter was very muddy!!). So many nice touches in the cottage to suit every age ...and VERY comfortable beds. We have had a great week!!

The best holiday cottage we have stayed in. We have stayed in many cottages over the years, and believe this is the best. From a practical point of view, the cottage is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. It's position is ideal if you want a quiet time (naturally on the Roseland), situated down a farm drive (no passing traffic), and the large self enclosed rear garden, facing out to fields, was ideal for our son to burn off some energy. You could also not ask for a more hospitable owner than Claire and James who also own and run the farm. On arrival in the cottage was home made bread and jam, milk, tea & coffee and even scones, clotted cream and a bottle of wine! We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the very friendly Myrtl (Border Terrier), but they were not intrusive through our stay. However, they did find us and invite us and our tractor mad three year old boy to see the combine working hard on the last harvesting of the year, which he loved. As a practical point of view, kitchen is fabulous with lots of space to cook, toys for our son to enjoy, very spacious and relaxing. All in all, this was a fantastic cottage with great owners, and I would thoroughly recommend it (although sometimes I thought we should keep this as a 'well kept secret').

A very lovely cottage and a peaceful location. Thank you for the food you left - very welcoming. Enjoyed the stay in Cornwall, visting many places. (Taken for Pippin Cottage visitors book)

(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book). Pleasant stay, nice base to explore Cornwall. Owners very friendly and helpful. Garden safe for children. Very well equipped for all of our needs. Delicious bread, scones and flapjacks on arrival. Thank you.

(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book) We've had a fantastic stay at Pippin Cottage. It is a wonderfully relaxing setting and the scones, biscuits and bread on arrival were delicious! The walk to Pendower Beach from the cottage was a good recommendation and I enjoyed my swims in the sea. The church at St Just in Roseland was such a relaxing visit and we all loved the gardens at Heligan. Thank you for a great holiday and for thinking of all our neeeds. (The cottage) is so well-equipped. We have all loved our stay here and would hope to visit again.

Amazing. Beautifully presented cottage with everything and more thought of (incl plastic bits for the younger ones and stairgate). Garden perfect and safe and big enough for the older ones to play footie and let the smaller ones run amongst the trees. Cannot fault it and highly recommend though would rather keep it our secret!!

Had a lovely welcoming stay in Pippin Cottage. Spacious, comfortable and perfect for our family. King Harry Ferry, Trelissick, Truro, Carne Beach and HubBox got the thumbs up from our teenagers. Thank you Clare for your delicious bread and tea on arrival. Would love to come again sometime.

We all loved our stay at Pippin Cottage and would recommend it to anyone. It's a lovely setting and the welcoming was very pleasant. We visited most of Cornwall on our stay including the Eden Project, Newquay, Lands End, Flambards, St ives and Porthcurnick Beach and the Hidden Hut. All the beaches and harbours around the area are stunning! Thanks to the Freeth Family for a lovely holiday - hopefully we will be back soon. (taken from the cottage visitors book)

An amazing place that makes the long journey worthwhile. The fresh scones and flapjacks, bottle of wine in the fridge just made the start of our holiday so much more special. To sit outside and absorb the silence once the kids were asleep make a truly relaxing break. A place to recommend. Thank you for your hospitality. We did feel at home! Average rating 5/5 Review title Pippin Cottage, Treworthal nr Philleigh Pippin Cottage was clean and comfortable and suited our family consisting of 2 adults and 4 teenagers. The outside space was perfect for us all. There wasn't really anything we would change apart from the weather which was a mixed bag. We all loved the cottage and would recommend it to others and would try to book again if coming to this part of Cornwall. We particularly liked the kitchen with the large table and plenty of room around it and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and friendly and provided a delicious tea on arrival. The cottage was a short drive to the King Harry Ferry, lovely beaches, Falmouth and Truro. A big thumbs up from all of us.

(Taken from Up-Front Reviews). Myself wife and son all enjoyed our stay at Pippin Cottage. We found it very clean and the people who let the cottage out very helpful at all times. The area around the cottage is excellent for walking and close to the sea,but the nearest cove is well over a mile away if not more. The cottage itself is a very nice and peaceful place to stay with very helpful owners.
