Lovely well equipped cottage with a stunning view out the back. Clare was very welcoming and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if we were in the area.
Thank you Clare for a bright and happy welcome to Pippin Cottage - clean and tidy, calming views after a long journey. We, the 5 of us, had a delightful stay. All our walks were mostly in sunshine along flower hedgerows with sea and estuary views. Even our two wet days had its delights. The cottage filled our requirements perfectly. We had a wonderful time this past week. Thank you for the warm welcome! Our daughter really enjoyed having her own room with en-suite. And the boys really enjoyed the garden to play tennis in. Thank you! (Taken from Pippin Cottage guest book) 22 - 28 April 2017
We've had a wonderful week in the cosy comfort of Pippin Cottage. We enjoyed the great walks, seeing seals and cormorants in the sunshine. Trelissick with rhododendrons at their best. (taken from Pippin Cottage guest book). 31 March to 7 April 2017
What a lovely cottage! We felt at home only a few minutes after our arrival. Everything was perfect, comfortable and beautiful. (taken from Pippin Cottage quest book). 18 - 23 March 2017
Beautiful, well equipped, clean and spacious accommodation. Cream Tea and bottle of wine on arrival ! Had a lovely peaceful new year with our two girls. Will have to go back when warmer xx
Clare and James excellent hosts enjoyed our stay. Oh and thank you Clare for posting the sock back !
(Excerpts from entry in visitors book). We found the cottage super comfortable, beautiful and very well equipped. In terms of the area we found it stunning and it felt quite undiscovered. Our weather was fantastic so we spent all but two days on the beach - Carne, Pendower and Porthcurnick. WE went to the Lost Gardens of Heligan and St Mawes Castle - both great hits with our 5 and 2 year olds.... We hope to be back!
8 August 2016 (Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book). We had a very good time in your cosy cottage. We like a lot the bread, cookies and bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Thank you very much. We enjoyed the garden with the barbeque and the nice view. To conclude, everything was perfect, even better than we had hoped for. Alexandra and friends.
(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book). We had a lovely stay here, with such a warm welcome from the Freeths. Our 2 3/4 year old loved seeing the chickens in the morning/evening and a highlight was his fresh egg for breakfast. It was great being in easy reach of the beach (Carne trumped Pendower for us just on sand and facilities). We would love to come back one day.
Thank you so much Clare and James for such a lovely welcome - Pippin Cottage is beautiful! Fantastic location, peaceful and relaxing - just what we needed. Great base to explore from and of course, weather been brilliant! What more could we ask for! Hope to return one day to such a lovely place. Thank you!
(Taken from Pippin Visitors Book). 1 - 8 July 2016. Thoroughly enjoyed our week in this delightful cottage - so well equipped and comfortable, as well as being in a beautiful and peaceful location. Had a good time re-visiting familiar places and discovering new walks along the coast path.
(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book, 24.6.16). Thank you for a wonderful welcome and providing us with this fantastic cottage to stay in. Comfortable, relaxing and very central to all around here in Cornwall.
(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book, 1.7.16). Excellent accommodation and lovely outlook - so peaceful!
(Taken from Pippin Visitors Book, 3.6.16)Thank you! We had a fabulous time. The kids felt right at home and so did we! Great hosts, the cottage has everything you need and a bit more. We will definitely recommend it!
(Taken from Up Front Reviews). Fabulous cottage next to the farm, the owners could not have been more helpful. Plenty of space for three couples and even additional guests for dinner! A great location for kayaks and bikes, storage room too! Cornwall at its best.
Action packed weekend - cycling, kayak and coast walks. Fantastic location and cottage perfect for us - Thank you very much! (taken from cottage visitors book).
From the moment we arrived this felt like home ... only better! Pippin Cottage is everything we could have wanted for a weekend away from it all. Thank you so much! (Taken from the cottage visitors book).
Extracts from entry in visitor book, April 2016: Cottage was fantastic; spacious, homely, lots of unexpected comforts and special thoughts to make you feel at home. Children loved watching the lambs playing. Overall a wonderful week and exactly the relaxing holiday we were hoping for. Whilst we didn't go far from the cottage or visit big attractions, we didn't feel the need to get in the car when there are so many beautiful places to see and explore which are accessible by footpaths. Thanks Clare and family for making us feel so welcome.
28 March - 1 April 2016. A lovey cottage for a family holiday. We enjoyed the wood burner each evening after a day out - returning from wind and rain at the beginning of the week...and glorious sunshine at the end of the week. We enjoyed long walks around Nare Head, Dodman Point and the Roseland Peninsula (the latter was very muddy!!). So many nice touches in the cottage to suit every age ...and VERY comfortable beds. We have had a great week!!
The best holiday cottage we have stayed in.
We have stayed in many cottages over the years, and believe this is the best. From a practical point of view, the cottage is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. It's position is ideal if you want a quiet time (naturally on the Roseland), situated down a farm drive (no passing traffic), and the large self enclosed rear garden, facing out to fields, was ideal for our son to burn off some energy.
You could also not ask for a more hospitable owner than Claire and James who also own and run the farm. On arrival in the cottage was home made bread and jam, milk, tea & coffee and even scones, clotted cream and a bottle of wine! We were warmly welcomed and introduced to the very friendly Myrtl (Border Terrier), but they were not intrusive through our stay. However, they did find us and invite us and our tractor mad three year old boy to see the combine working hard on the last harvesting of the year, which he loved.
As a practical point of view, kitchen is fabulous with lots of space to cook, toys for our son to enjoy, very spacious and relaxing.
All in all, this was a fantastic cottage with great owners, and I would thoroughly recommend it (although sometimes I thought we should keep this as a 'well kept secret').
A very lovely cottage and a peaceful location. Thank you for the food you left - very welcoming. Enjoyed the stay in Cornwall, visting many places. (Taken for Pippin Cottage visitors book)
(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book). Pleasant stay, nice base to explore Cornwall. Owners very friendly and helpful. Garden safe for children. Very well equipped for all of our needs. Delicious bread, scones and flapjacks on arrival. Thank you.
(Taken from Pippin Cottage visitors book) We've had a fantastic stay at Pippin Cottage. It is a wonderfully relaxing setting and the scones, biscuits and bread on arrival were delicious! The walk to Pendower Beach from the cottage was a good recommendation and I enjoyed my swims in the sea. The church at St Just in Roseland was such a relaxing visit and we all loved the gardens at Heligan. Thank you for a great holiday and for thinking of all our neeeds. (The cottage) is so well-equipped. We have all loved our stay here and would hope to visit again.
Amazing. Beautifully presented cottage with everything and more thought of (incl plastic bits for the younger ones and stairgate). Garden perfect and safe and big enough for the older ones to play footie and let the smaller ones run amongst the trees. Cannot fault it and highly recommend though would rather keep it our secret!!
Had a lovely welcoming stay in Pippin Cottage. Spacious, comfortable and perfect for our family. King Harry Ferry, Trelissick, Truro, Carne Beach and HubBox got the thumbs up from our teenagers. Thank you Clare for your delicious bread and tea on arrival. Would love to come again sometime.
An amazing place that makes the long journey worthwhile. The fresh scones and flapjacks, bottle of wine in the fridge just made the start of our holiday so much more special. To sit outside and absorb the silence once the kids were asleep make a truly relaxing break. A place to recommend. Thank you for your hospitality. We did feel at home! We all loved our stay at Pippin Cottage and would recommend it to anyone. It's a lovely setting and the welcoming was very pleasant. We visited most of Cornwall on our stay including the Eden Project, Newquay, Lands End, Flambards, St ives and Porthcurnick Beach and the Hidden Hut. All the beaches and harbours around the area are stunning! Thanks to the Freeth Family for a lovely holiday - hopefully we will be back soon. (taken from the cottage visitors book)
(Taken from Up-Front Reviews). Myself wife and son all enjoyed our stay at Pippin Cottage. We found it very clean and the people who let the cottage out very helpful at all times. The area around the cottage is excellent for walking and close to the sea,but the nearest cove is well over a mile away if not more. The cottage itself is a very nice and peaceful place to stay with very helpful owners.

Review title Pippin Cottage, Treworthal nr Philleigh
Pippin Cottage was clean and comfortable and suited our family consisting of 2 adults and 4 teenagers. The outside space was perfect for us all. There wasn't really anything we would change apart from the weather which was a mixed bag. We all loved the cottage and would recommend it to others and would try to book again if coming to this part of Cornwall. We particularly liked the kitchen with the large table and plenty of room around it and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was very welcoming and friendly and provided a delicious tea on arrival. The cottage was a short drive to the King Harry Ferry, lovely beaches, Falmouth and Truro. A big thumbs up from all of us.
