In the heart of the Roseland Peninsula and within walking distance of the superb sandy beaches of Pendower and Carne, Pippin Cottage is a delightful place to stay at any time of the year.
The self catering accommodation
Pippin Cottage sleeps up to 6 in two ground floor superking/twin bedrooms and a double bedroom on the first floor. There is a large kitchen and dining area and a spacious lounge with french doors opening on to a large garden with patio furniture.
Coast and Beaches
The Roseland Peninsula is brimming with pretty beaches and historic villages, places to visit and things to do. You will be amazed by what you will find right on the doorstep – to stumble across little gems such as the Hidden Hut whilst on a coastal walk is what dreams are made of, and for a proper taste of Cornwall, the Philleigh Way Cookery School is in our own parish.
Castles and Gardens
A variety of renowned gardens are just a stones throw away, including Caerhays Estate, Tregothnan Estate and Trelissick Gardens just over the King Harry Ferry, or the smaller Poppy Cottage at Ruan High Lanes. St Mawes Castle built by Henry VIII and the Veryan Roundhouses are a must see.
The Roseland is the perfect location from which to explore the wider treasures of Cornwall such as the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project to the North, and Falmouth and the National Maritime Museum to the south and the picturesque filmsets of 'Poldark' and 'Peregrines Home for Peculiars'.
Good food abounds in the locality, whether you want to eat out at one of the many village pubs such as the 16th Century Roseland Inn at Philleigh or at any of the more exclusive hotels and restaurants in the area.
We are here to help
To make your stay enjoyable we can arrange babysitting services and a taxi service to and from local pubs and restaurants, and luggage transfers if you are walking the coastal path.
Whatever your reason for visiting Cornwall, Clare, James and the family will be delighted to welcome you to our little slice of heaven.
Life on the farm
The holiday cottage is part of Penhallow Farm, a working 580 acre farm stretching from the coast to the Fal Estuary in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Owned and farmed by James and Clare Freeth. the farm is a patchwork of arable fields, green meadows and mature woodland divided by lush hedgerows that abound with wildflowers in the spring and summer and provide a perfect habitat for thriving bird and wildlife populations.
Clare Balding, on her radio programme 'Ramblings', walked from one corner of the farm at Ardevora, through the footpaths and lanes to Pendower Beach at the other extent of our land.
A delicious cream tea awaits you on your arrival.
